LOS ANGELES (January 7, 2026) - Angel City Football Club (ACFC) announced today that the club has signed Duke University midfielder Carina Lageyre to a three-year contract.

“Since my first meeting with Mark [Parsons] and Alex [Straus], I was excited about their vision for the future for this organization and I am extremely thankful to be part of it,” said Lageyre. “I chose Angel City because I want to develop in a competitive training environment with a strong fan base. This team provides all the resources for us to be successful and I’m looking forward to making this city proud.”

"Carina is a fantastic young talent from one of the top college programs in the country, while also having significant US Youth National Team experience," said ACFC Sporting Director Mark Parsons. “Carina is a highly intelligent midfielder who can control games through her positional play and passing game which is rare. We couldn’t be happier that she will bring this style of play to our club.”

After a successful career at Duke, Lageyre joins Angel City FC having played in 65 matches, starting 59, logging 3,962 minutes, and scoring six goals, including three game-winning goals. She contributed to 56 wins and two NCAA College Cup appearances (2024 and 2025). In her final collegiate season, Lageyre started all 22 matches, recording two goals, logging 1,835 minutes. Duke posted a 17-5-1 record and advanced through the NCAA Tournament, with Lageyre contributing in both the regular season and postseason. Her season included a game-winning goal against Clemson, one of her three career game-winners.

Before her time at Duke, Lageyre was recognized as one of the top high school players in the Class of 2022, earning national honors as the No. 4 overall prospect and the top-ranked midfielder from the state of Florida.

Lageyre gained international experience as part of the U.S. Youth National Team program beginning in 2017, competing at the U-15, U-17, and U-20 levels. She was a member of the U.S. U-17 Women’s National Team in 2019, winning the UEFA Women’s Development Tournament that year, and later competed in U-17 international friendlies against England in 2020. At the U-20 level, Lageyre represented the United States at the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup and was a member of the U-20 Women’s National Team that went on to win the Sud Ladies Cup in 2022. She was also a member of the Olympic Development Program South Region team in 2016.
