LOS ANGELES (January 6, 2026) - Angel City Football Club (ACFC) announced today that the club has signed Brazilian international midfielder Ary Borges to a three-year contract, bringing a dynamic and creative playmaker to Los Angeles. Borges arrives in LA after an impressive run with both Racing Louisville and nearly 50 caps with Brazilian Women’s National Team, where she has established herself as an attacking midfielder.

“I'm very excited to play on this new stage in Los Angeles,” said Borges. “I'm stepping up in my career, being part of a great project like Angel City. I'm also so excited to play in front of the fans who were always amazing when I played against Angel City, so I know it will be an indescribable feeling to play for them. See you soon LA!”

"We are excited to welcome Ary Borges to Angel City, a dynamic box-to-box midfielder who has both NWSL and international experience for one of the best national teams in the world,” said ACFC Sporting Director Mark Parsons. "She is a brave talent who always wants the ball and to control the game while also being relentless in defending and not giving her opponents a rest. Ary brings important big game experience and competitive mentality with her to Angel City.”

Borges joins ACFC after three seasons with Racing Louisville, where she made 53 appearances from 2023–2025. In the 2025 NWSL season, she appeared in 21 matches, logged 1,404 minutes, and scored six goals in all competitions, playing a consistent role in Louisville’s midfield rotation. Before arriving in the NWSL, Borges spent several years competing in Brazil’s top division, including a standout stretch at Palmeiras (2020-2022), where she scored 34 goals in 83 matches and established herself as one of the league’s most effective attacking midfielders.

Hailing from Sao Luiz, Maranhão, Brazil, Borges made global headlines during the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, scoring a hat trick in Brazil’s 4–0 opening match against Panama and earning Player of the Match honors. She has continued to be a regular selection for the Brazil Women’s National Team, representing her country in major tournaments such as Copa América, the SheBelieves Cup, and Olympic qualifiers. Her presence at the international level has made her an important contributor to Brazil across multiple competitive cycles.
