In its first action after the month-long NWSL break, Angel City Football Club (ACFC) will host the Orlando Pride at 7 p.m. PT on Friday at BMO Stadium. The match will be televised on Prime Video.

Last Time Out: Courage Outlasts ACFC

Angel City FC generated more chances but ultimately lost, 2-1, to the North Carolina Courage on May 31 in its final contest of a six-match month at BMO Stadium.

ACFC (4-6-1) outshot the Courage, 17-10, and had more expected goals (1.6 to 1.2), but North Carolina midfielder Manaka Matsukubo’s goal in the 79th minute proved to be the game-winner.

Midfielder Maiara Niehues equalized in the 51st minute after the Courage opened the scoring in the 48th minute. Defender Evelyn Shores set up Niehues’s tally and has three goal contributions in 11 matches.

Next Up: Banda and the Pride

The Orlando Pride (5-5-2) come to BMO Stadium in eighth place in the NWSL standings. In their final match before the break, Orlando beat Bay FC, 3-1, on May 29 at Inter&Co Stadium.

Pride forward Barbra Banda scored a brace in the match and is the current leader in the race for the Golden Boot, with 11 goals in 12 games played. Banda has generated 27 shots on target this season – six more than second-place Sophia Wilson of the Portland Thorns and almost double as many as anyone else in the league.

Friday’s match will also mark the first contest that Angel City will be managed by Interim Head Coach Leif Gunnar Smerud. He takes the helm after joining the club in May as a Senior Assistant Coach and previously led Norwegian side SK Brann W to the Toppserien title in 2025.

In the Spotlight: Ally Sentnor Joins ACFC

Angel City made a significant acquisition during the break, acquiring midfielder Ally Sentnor from the Kansas City Current for $850,000 in intraleague transfer funds. The club then subsequently extended Sentnor’s contract through the end of the 2029 season.

Sentnor was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NWSL Draft and has already made her mark for club and country. During her rookie season with the Utah Royals, she started all 21 matches and recorded three goals and four assists. Sentnor joined the Kansas City Current in August 2025 and continued her rise in the NWSL. Prior to arriving at ACFC, she started all 12 league matches in 2026, tallying two goals and two assists.

Sentnor’s international career began with her first call-up to the U.S. Women’s National Team in November 2024. Since then, she has 22 senior USWNT appearances, seven goals and three assists.

The midfielder is available for selection for Friday’s match and will be a significant factor for Angel City for the remainder of the season.

This Week at BMO Stadium: LA Sports Night

On Friday, ACFC will celebrate LA Sports Night, and coaches, players and mascots from several teams will be in attendance. The pre-match Three-Clap will be led by USC Women’s Basketball Head Coach Lindsay Gottlieb and players Saniyah Hall and Sara Okeke. And supporters can keep an eye out for mascots from the Kings, Sparks and Dodgers as well as the NCAA National Championship Trophy won by the UCLA women’s basketball team.

The first 5,000 fans to enter the gates will also receive the third collectible pin in the five-set series. Pin #3 features the Flare kit pattern, which shines from the crest with the club at the center. The evening will conclude with post-match fireworks ahead of Independence Day.
