Join us for LA Plaza’s Día de los Muertos Family Day, a celebration of nuestras tradiciones honoring our loved ones with memories, music, and joy that keep their spirits alive in our hearts.

Experience a full day of performances, art, and storytelling that bring the Day of the Dead to life through dance, music, and community. Families can enjoy free hands-on workshops, explore LA Plaza’s exhibitions, and even contribute to the Community Ofrenda by adding photos of their loved ones.

Angel City Football Club will be on site hosting calavera coloring activities and a book reading for kids and families.

Performances include:

  • Grupo Ballet Folklórico Princesa Donaji – Traditional dances from Oaxaca led by Aldo Cruz.
  • Ballet Folklórico Eterna Juventud – Leading the Procession and Community Altar, followed by music, poetry, and Catrina comedy sketches.
  • Danzas de México – Showcasing vibrant traditional dances like Danza de Negritos, Danza de Xochipitzahualt, and Tarahumaras.

The program will be guided by Blanca A. Soto, actress, voice and acting coach, and the unforgettable voice of the Emcee in Disney Pixar’s Coco.

Explore and Participate:

  • Take a free guided tour with Les Navegantes to learn about the Latinx presence in Los Angeles.
  • Add photos to LA Plaza’s Community Ofrenda, a shared space honoring our ancestors and collective resilience.
  • Enjoy delicious bites from local vendors, including El Moro, Sammy’s Elotes y Más, and East Los Tacos.
