Madison Hammond joined Angel City FC in March, 2022, following a trade with OL Reign FC. She joined the Reign ahead of the 2020 Challenge Cup as a non-roster invitee, later signing a contract and making her pro debut in the 2020 Fall Series. In 2021, she played in 13 games, making 23 clearances, nine interceptions, and four blocks. Hammond attended Wake Forest University, where she was a four-year starter. Her senior year, she led the team in minutes played with 1,718, and had three goals and four assists. Her junior year, she started all 20 games and was second on the team with 1,806 minutes played. In 2017, her sophomore season, she was a key component of a defense that recorded 11 shutouts and a program-record .76 goals against average. As a freshman, she scored in her collegiate debut against San Diego.
Hammond is the first ever Native American player in the NWSL.
