Forward Claire Emslie signed with Angel City FC on July 7, 2022, after the club acquired her rights from the Orlando Pride in the 2022 Expansion Draft.

She previously played for Everton, where she had five goals in 39 appearances between 2020 and 2022. In 2019, she made 11 appearances for Orlando before being loaned to Melbourne City in the Australian W-League for their 2019–2020 season. In Melbourne, She scored four goals en route to winning the table and the playoff final. Between 2011 and 2019, she played for Hibernian, Bristol City, and Manchester City, winning the Scottish League Cup in her first year with Hibernian and lifting both the League Cup and the FA Cup with Manchester City in 2018–2019.
Emslie has represented Scotland internationally since 2013, including at the 2019 World Cup, where she scored a goal against England. She has 43 caps and nine goals in total for Scotland.

Born in Edinburgh and raised in Penicuik, Emslie attended Florida Atlantic University, making 76 appearances and scoring 29 goals, and studied exercise physiology.
