Forward Christen Press signed with Angel City Football Club (ACFC) on Aug. 23, 2021, after the club acquired the right to Press in a trade with Racing Louisville. Louisville acquired her rights during the 2020 NWSL Expansion Draft, but Press never played for them.
Press is most known for her appearances with the U.S. Women’s National Team (USWNT); as of 2022, Press appeared in 155 games for the USWNT and scored 64 goals with 43 assists. She won two World Cups (2015, 2019) and a bronze medal in the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics as a member of the USWNT.
Press's international stops include Kopparbergs/Göteborg FC (2012), Tyresö FF (2013-14), Kopparbergs/Göteborg FC (2018), and Manchester United (2020-21). Press spent her active NWSL time with the Chicago Red Stars (2014-17), where she served as captain from 2016-17, and with Utah Royals FC (2018-20).
On a personal note, she founded Re-inc, an eco-conscious fashion and creative goods company, with fellow USWNT champions Megan Rapinoe, Tobin Heath, and Meghan Klingenberg in 2019. “Bring CP to LA” was a movement that helped lead ACFC to make her the first player.
