ABOUT ANGEL CITY

LA went a decade without a women's pro club. We're here to bring the game home, and to show what happens when the city gets a real seat at the table.

Our Story

Angel City Football Club is Los Angeles's team in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). Announced July 21, 2020, we kicked off our first season in 2022 at BMO Stadium in Exposition Park: 22,000 seats, downtown skyline, and a crowd that routinely leads the league in turnout.

The club was built with a majority female ownership group and founding voices from sport and culture, including Natalie Portman, Julie Uhrman, Kara Nortman, Alexis Ohanian, and USWNT legends who wanted the next generation to grow up with a pro team in their city.

The essentials

What we stand for

We're a club first. Everything else, from matches and merch to partnerships, exists to serve players, fans, and the people of Los Angeles.

Mission

Compete at the highest level in the NWSL while building women's soccer in LA: more visibility, better investment in athletes, and a stadium experience that feels unmistakably Angeleno.

Values

  • Community in the room: Supporters helped shape our crest, colors, and kits.
  • Equity on purpose: Majority female ownership from day one.
  • Give back: Number 22 sales channel 10% to community impact via California Community Foundation.

What we do

We play home and away matches in the NWSL, host international friendlies and events like Copa Angelina, run matchdays at BMO Stadium, and sell kits and gear so you can rep the club year-round. No jargon, just soccer, culture, and LA.

Who we serve

Anyone who loves the game: families at their first match, diehards in the supporters' section, youth players looking up to pros, and neighbors who want a night out that feels local and electric. If you're in LA or rooting from afar, you're part of it.

How we work

Culture on purpose

We collaborate with supporters when it matters: crest, palette, and kits. Angel City should look and feel like Los Angeles, not a focus group in another time zone.

Shirt number 22 is retired to honor our founding year and the eleven-a-side game; we still sell 22 with ten percent of proceeds funding community programs. Matchdays blend competition with hospitality: families welcome, and the South End loud.

Volemos, let’s fly.

You’ll see it on the kits; we try to live it in how we show up for fans and for each other.
