The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) today released the league’s 2024 regular season schedule, which includes Angel City Football (ACFC)’s 26 matches. ACFC will host its season opener at BMO Stadium in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday, March 16, in the evening against expansion side and newest rival Bay FC.
With two new expansion teams—Bay FC and Utah Royals—ACFC’s regular-season schedule is four games longer than in 2023. The club will host 13 of 26 total matches in 2024, beginning with the season opener and ending on the road against Portland Thorns FC on November 1. The schedule features a break from regular season play from July 6–August 24 as players from Angel City and across the league compete at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
While ACFC will welcome new California rival Bay FC to the league in their home opener; the rematch will be played on the road in San Jose at PayPal Park on June 22. Angel City plays SoCal rival San Diego Wave at home on May 23 and away on August 24.
Other highlights include the club’s two games against the other 2024 expansion team, Utah Royals—to take place May 3 and October 20—as well as new midfield signing Rocky Rodríguez’s two games against her old club, Portland Thorns, on September 23 and November 1.
In November 2023, the NWSL announced a landmark agreement for its domestic media distribution with 118 national windows during the regular season across CBS Sports, ESPN, Prime Video, and Scripps Sports. The remainder of the schedule will be part of a domestic direct-to-consumer packaged, produced and distributed by the NWSL. Throughout 2024, 26 ACFC matches will be distributed across the following partner platforms:
-
Six ACFC matches will feature Friday nights on Prime Video.
-
On Saturday nights eight, ACFC matches will be streamed as a part of a double–header on Scripps’-owned ION network, available over-the-air in 123 million homes.
-
A package of seven ACFC matches will air on The CBS Television Network and stream live on Paramount+, with four of those matches airing on CBS Sports Network.
-
ESPN will air one ACFC match, which will be against Kansas City Current at the brand new CPKC Stadium. All NWSL matches on ESPN platforms and on ABC will stream live on ESPN+ in English and Spanish. The package also includes English, Spanish and Portuguese-language rights in Latin America.
-
The remaining four ACFC matches will stream on NWSL+, the new domestic direct-to-consumer platform, which is free for all fans across the U.S. and available to download on all iOS/Android devices, as well as streaming TV distributors Apple TV, Fire TV and Roku. In addition to match coverage, highlights, select replays and additional league and club content will also be available for free on the app.
Details regarding international distribution will be announced in the coming weeks.
With five sellouts last season, ACFC expects to see more record-setting crowds at BMO Stadium this year. Season tickets are on sale now and fans can place deposits on mini-plans—including the California Rivals plan featuring San Diego and Bay FC—here.
