LOS ANGELES (Oct. 29, 2026) - Angel City Football Club (ACFC) goalkeeper Hannah Seabert today announced her retirement from professional football, concluding a career that included championship titles in Denmark, Norway, and Portugal before returning home to Southern California to join ACFC.
Originally from Riverside, Calif., Seabert joined Angel City in July 2025 from Sporting Clube de Portugal. Her arrival marked a homecoming for the Southern California native, who had wanted to represent the club since its founding.
“A soccer career brings many surprises with it, and one of those is when it will end,” said Seabert. “It’s a question we get asked a lot - how long we want to play. I am ending with a great feeling of gratitude for all the people, places, and things soccer brought into my life. I’ve played in four countries, won championships, and met some of my best friends. I’ve learned hard lessons and pushed myself in amazing ways.
“Ending my career at Angel City is a dream scenario,” continued Seabert. “The past year and a half with this club has been so special. Finally sharing my career with my hometown and community has been very fulfilling. I wouldn’t have wanted to spend my last years anywhere else.”
"We are so grateful for Hannah and proud that she will forever be part of the Angel City family," said ACFC Sporting Director Mark Parsons. “Hannah has been a tremendous player, teammate and leader on our team at a very important time for our club. We can’t wait to cheer Hannah on as she takes on this next chapter and know she will crush anything she sets her mind to.”
During her time with Angel City, Seabert recorded four appearances, totaling 360 minutes, 15 saves, and two shutouts.
Before joining ACFC, Seabert served as Sporting CP’s team captain during her final season with the Portuguese club. Across her time with Sporting, she made 87 appearances in all competitions, the most by a goalkeeper in club history at the time of her departure, and logged 7,885 minutes. She helped the club capture the 2022 Portugal Cup and 2024 Portugal Super Cup and earned Liga BPI Goalkeeper of the Year honors three times.
Seabert previously competed for Vålerenga in Norway and Fortuna Hjørring in Denmark. With Vålerenga, she helped secure the 2020 Norwegian League title and the 2020 and 2021 Norwegian Cup titles. At Fortuna Hjørring, she won the 2018 Danish League and 2019 Danish Cup titles and was named the 2018 Danish League Player of the Year.
Her professional career followed a standout collegiate career at Pepperdine University, where she set a program record with 331 saves. Across 82 appearances and 7,582 minutes for the Waves, Seabert posted an .813 save percentage and 28 shutouts. Her collegiate honors included the 2016 West Coast Conference Goalkeeper of the Year award and All-WCC First Team recognition.
Angel City Football Club thanks Hannah for her contributions and congratulates her on a career that took her from Southern California to championship teams across Europe and back home.
