Today, Angel City announced that the club and star forward Jun Endo have agreed to mutually exercise her one-year option through the end of the 2024 NWSL Season.

“The past two seasons with Angel City have changed my life,” said Endo. “It has been an honor to represent this club. I love our amazing fans and the community of Los Angeles. I am excited about what's ahead and hopefully we bring an NWSL championship here in 2024.”

“Jun is a world class player. She has a unique ability to read the game and capitalize on the opportunities that are presented to her no matter where she is on the field,” said ACFC General Manager Angela Hucles Mangano. “She represents Angel City so well as a favorite amongst our fans. We are thrilled that her option has been exercised and we will see her on the pitch in 2024.”

Endo has spent the past two seasons with the club, appearing in 47 matches in all competitions, scoring four goals while earning six assists. In the club’s inaugural match on April 29, 2022 against the North Carolina Courage, Endo scored the second goal in club history in the 13th minute to help ACFC win their first NWSL regular season match as an expansion team.

Since 2018, Endo has played for the Japan Women’s National Team, where she currently has 42 caps and four goals. In the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, Endo scored one goal and two assists, helping them reach the quarterfinals—the top performance by any ACFC player in the tournament.
