ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Player 22 Program is a transformative initiative designed to empower retired athletes from professional women’s soccer—including national teams, the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), Women’s Professional Soccer League (WPS), Women’s United Soccer Association (WUSA), Women’s Super League (WSL), and USL Super League—as they transition into life beyond professional soccer.

Recognizing the unique challenges of stepping away from the game, the program offers a comprehensive suite of resources to support personal and professional growth. From career development and entrepreneurial training to financial support, Player 22 equips participants with the tools they need to excel in diverse industries and launch successful business ventures.

By investing in the futures of retired athletes, the Player 22 Program not only honors their contributions to the sport but also strengthens the legacy of women’s soccer. It empowers these athletes to continue making an impact far beyond the pitch.

Season Ticket Members get early access to tickets before the general public. Parking at Titan Stadium will be free on July 20 only. Daily parking is $10/day and would be enforced on August 1. All permits are virtual and have to be done via the app ParkMobile.

RETIRING NUMBER 22

The Player 22 Program is named in homage to ACFC's spring 2022 kickoff and the 22 players on the pitch in every match.

With every purchase of a #22 jersey, ACFC will allocate 10 percent of the revenue to create pathways for former NWSL players to build careers in the sports industry.

Angel City FC officially retired the jersey before their July 30, 2022 game against OL Reign.
