Friday Five x DoorDash: Tattoo Shops

Friday Five x DoorDash: Tattoo Shops

The art of tattooing has long been linked to the fight against conformity, and in a cultural hub like Los Angeles, it serves as a visual representation of the counter culture that lies beneath all the glitz and glamour of the city. Tattoo shops serve as a gathering place for their respective neighborhoods, offering respite and acceptance to all, regardless of background or affiliation. Whether it’s your first tattoo ever or the latest in an ongoing quest to cover your body with art, Los Angeles has a tattoo shop for everyone — here are 5 local spots to get you started!

Angel City’s Friday Five series is presented by DoorDash.

Native Angeleno Zara Solava, also known as Opal, has been tattooing since 2014. She opened her own private shop, Opal Tattoo Studio, in West Hollywood last March. Alongside her is Erin Anderson, known as Lil Doe Tattoos. Erin trained under Zara and has been happily tattooing for two years. They particularly love working on designs featuring botanicals and geometric elements. Together with their current apprentice, Jackie Quintero, they value getting to know their clients and strive to create a safe environment for all.

Fun fact: ACFC’s Community Team recently visited the studio and got fresh ink from Erin! This included first tattoos for some and they all left glowing from the experience.
