Sidney Long has always felt that one of his main ambitions in life was to train dogs and help dog owners. During his time in the Marine Corps, Sidney was able to exercise his passion for training by participating in Schutzhund (a dog sport that tests tracking, obedience, and protection skills) and NAPWDA trials. After receiving an Honorable Discharge from the Marine Corps, he soon began his law enforcement career where he created the K-9 Enforcement Program. Now that Sidney has retired, his focus is on Camp Run-A-Mutt — outdoor, cage-free daycare and boarding for dogs! To learn more about Camp Run-A-Mutt’s services, click here.

Owned by veteran Alan O’Donovan, CiaoCristina! is a hidden gem in the city of Burbank. The Italian bar and bistro was first established in 2009 by original owner, Cristina Formenton. Cristina was born in Venice, Italy, and when the opportunity arose for her to obtain a restaurant space, she immediately jumped at the opportunity. Today, locals are able to enjoy authentic Italian cuisine just like Cristina imagined. If you’re ever in the area, their Neapolitan-style pizza is a must!

During his final assignment for the US Marine Corps, Trinidad Garcia III was already making moves to achieve his goal of becoming a denim designer. He applied for the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, and though the pathway to acceptance was tough, he went on to successfully navigate the rigors of student life and eventually create Trinidad3 Jeans. The mission of the brand is simple — to give back to and support the under-served vets at home. “Our mission is to make sure that every pair matters,” says Trinidad.
