Angel City announced today that it will relocate to a nine-acre site on the campus of California Lutheran University. The new performance center, which offers a full-size pitch and a half and approximately 50,000 square feet of indoor space, is the largest dedicated solely to a National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) club. The performance center will serve as the home of ACFC’s players and first-team staff for up to four years, marking a significant milestone in the club’s commitment to player development and creating a high-performance environment.
The performance center, formerly the home of the Super Bowl-winning Los Angeles Rams, is undergoing a multi-million dollar custom remodel to the interior and outdoor spaces, which will be completed for the 2025 NWSL preseason.
"This is a major milestone in the history of our club," said ACFC Co-Founder and President Julie Uhrman. "We are committed to building a championship-level experience for our staff and players. This new dedicated performance center, the largest in the NWSL, lives up to our ambitions, setting a new bar for what professional athletes need to become champions on the pitch and support their needs off the pitch.”
"From a sporting perspective, having a performance center that truly meets the unique needs of our athletes is absolutely critical," said ACFC General Manager Angela Hucles Mangano. "Our players and staff have long awaited this training facility and will benefit greatly from brand-new equipment and custom spaces. These invaluable resources are essential for performing at the highest level, and a primary need to provide a standard of professional excellence for our athletes."
Cal Lutheran University has been the training home of ACFC since its inaugural season, and the relocation to the remodeled performance center continues the partnership.
"We are thrilled to extend our partnership with Angel City Football Club and support their growth and commitment to building an environment focused on player excellence and development,” said John Nunes, President of Cal Lutheran University. “Through our multi-year partnership, we will continue to host this world-class sports team as well as provide hands-on learning opportunities for our students with ACFC’s players, coaches, and leadership.”
