Angel City drew the North Carolina Courage 0–0 on the road today, starting their two-game stint on the road with a point and a clean sheet—the team's first of 2023.

North Carolina dominated the match offensively, but ACFC's defense continued their strong run of form and limited the home team to just three shots on target out of a total of 12.

The Courage put their first shot on frame in the 14th minute when forward Tyler Lussi ran onto a long diagonal ball and put a shot on target. Keeper DiDi Haračić saved her shot, but couldn’t hold onto the ball, which fell to Lussi again, but her second attempt was blocked by defender Ali Riley.

Haračić had another save in the 23rd minute when defender Emily Fox and forward Rikke Madsen traded a few passes to get free of pressure, and Fox sent the ball to Lussi in the left-hand corner of the six-yard box. Haračić did well to drop down and stop Lussi’s close-range shot.

In the 28th minute, North Carolina forward Narumi sent a cross in for Lussi in the six; Lussi got her head on the ball, but sent it over the crossbar.

The home team had their best chance of the game in the 48th minute when forward Kerolin cut inside on a run up the right wing and made a backheel pass to Narumi as the Japanese international overlapped her. Narumi had a clear shot on goal, but put it over the bar.

The Courage had a final chance in the 87th minute when forward Olivia Wingate feinted to beat her mark and put a shot on frame, but Haračić was there again to make the save.

LA nearly put one away in the fifth minute of stoppage time, with midfielder Savannah McCaskill sending a cross into the six-yard box. Forwards Alyssa Thompson and Katie Johnson were both making runs, and with keeper Casey Murphy diving and missing the ball, Johnson nearly had a look, but couldn’t quite connect.
