Today, Angel City released a limited-edition “One Love” t-shirt and hoodie for Giving Tuesday. One hundred percent of the proceeds will be split evenly between two organizations: United for Iran and International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, and Intersex Association (ILGA World) in support of the injustices affecting women in Iran and the LGBTI+ community abroad. The pieces are available for purchase at shop.angelcity.com.
“Angel City was founded on the values of equity, essentials, and education, which includes safety and freedom for all,” said Co-Founder and President of ACFC Julie Uhrman. “The voices and rights of women of Iran and their allies, as well as the LGBTQI+ community in Qatar are being suppressed. As an organization and individuals with the ability to speak up, it is critical that we use our platform to support those who need it.”
“We are particularly disappointed that the message of inclusion represented in the #ONELOVE armband was forbidden on the biggest stage in global soccer,” continued Uhrman. 'Therefore, we hope that through the sales of these items, we are able to donate significant funds to these deserving organizations doing important work.”
Established in 2009, United For Iran is a Bay Area-based non-profit dedicated to empowering the citizens of Iran to advocate for civil liberties through safe activism, technology, and civic engagement.
The International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, and Intersex Association (ILGA World), is a global federation of more than 1,700 organizations from 160 countries and territories committed to pursuing human rights for LGBTQ+ individuals.
