LOS ANGELES/CARY, NC (May 6, 2024) - Angel City Football Club (ACFC) and The Soccer Tournament (TST), the 7v7 winner-take-all competition taking place from June 7-10 at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, NC, jointly announced today that ACFC will sponsor a team in TST’s inaugural women’s bracket. Select games will air on ESPN in addition to TheTournament.com.

“Anywhere that women’s soccer is in this country, we want to be,” said ACFC Co-Founder and President Julie Uhrman. “We always talk about building a culture and environment where ‘fun and winning’ are at its core, and I can’t think of a better tournament to display this then TST. I can’t wait to put our Angel City crest up against some of the most renowned players and most popular clubs live on ESPN. Heather [O’Reilly] and Lori [Lindsey], we’re coming for you!”

"We are excited to welcome Angel City as the eighth and final team in our inaugural women's tournament," said The Tournament Founder/CEO Jon Mugar. "Angel City's leadership has set the standard in so many ways and perfectly embodies what TST is all about. We are anticipating a momentous and electrifying event."

Angel City is the final team announced from the eight-team women’s field with participants including US Women, Wrexham Red Dragons (Women), Burnley FC Women, Soccerhead FC, Streetball FC Canada, Tampa Bay Sun FC, and fellow NWSL club North Carolina Courage. TST will announce brackets shortly.

“As a former player, it is amazing to see the support and growth of women’s football.  TST is a fun and unique soccer experience, it was inevitable that Angel City would be a part of it,” said Angel City Football Club General Manager Angela Hucles Mangano.

ACFC will announce additional details on its TST roster and activations around the special team in the coming weeks. The team will be composed of talent other than the club’s current first-team roster.
