Angel City announced today that defender Allyson Swaby will go on loan to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for six months.

“Allyson will always be part of Angel City history as a member of our inaugural squad,” said ACFC General Manager Angela Hucles Mangano. “We are continuously looking for ways to develop our players and provide them with opportunities here and abroad, including this one with a storied club like PSG. We know she will make an impact there, and we look forward to her return in the summer.”

Swaby, a Connecticut native, made her NWSL debut with ACFC under Head Coach Freya Coombe on August 7, 2022 against the Orlando Pride at Exploria Stadium.

She has been a member of the Jamaica Women’s National Team since 2018, making four appearances in the 2019 CONCACAF Women's Championship and representing the country at the 2019 World Cup in France—the team’s first-ever World Cup appearance. After the World Cup, she was named team captain. Swaby and Jamaica will compete at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2023 after finishing second in their qualifying group.

Swaby spent her collegiate career at Boston College, where she was named to the 2014 All-ACC Freshman Team. She graduated in 2017 after a successful tenure as team captain, starting 20 matches. After graduating from Boston College, Swaby moved abroad to join Icelandic club Knattspyrnufélag Fjarðabyggðar. In late 2018, she moved to Serie A team AS Roma, where she appeared in 55 matches, and in 2021 helped the team bring home their first major trophy at the Coppa Italia final.

Off the field, Swaby is an active member of Common Goal, a pledge-based organization that works to unite the global football community in tackling social challenges, and is committed to using her platform to promote equality through soccer.
