Angel City Football Club (ACFC), in partnership with DoorDash, is thrilled to announce a remarkable milestone: the delivery of one million meals to combat food insecurity in Los Angeles through programs with the All Peoples Community Center (APCC) and the Los Angeles LGBT Center. In fact, since the beginning of 2021, ACFC and DoorDash have distributed a staggering 1,068,900 meals, feeding 66,077 individuals and contributing 595 hours of volunteer service to support food distribution.

This feat has been made possible through the Angel City Sponsorship Model, where 10 percent of every sponsorship dollar is dedicated to making a positive impact in the community. DoorDash, the club's front-of-jersey sponsor, has been a dedicated partner in ACFC's mission to combat food insecurity in Los Angeles.

“I could not be more proud of this incredible achievement with DoorDash, who from the very beginning have been steadfast in their commitment to supporting these programs,” said Head of ACFC Community & Marketing Catherine Dávila. “This is just the beginning of what we can do together now that these programs are in place.”

'At DoorDash, we believe in supporting and empowering local communities,” said Donna Lupton, Director of Cultural Partnerships at DoorDash. “We are incredibly proud to celebrate the delivery of over one million meals through our non-profit partners with Angel City to meaningfully combat food insecurity in Los Angeles. We look forward to celebrating future milestones together as we continue our shared mission to create positive change in our communities.'

ACFC and DoorDash have funded a total of seven innovative programs in collaboration with the APCC in Downtown Los Angeles and the Los Angeles LGBT Center, which benefits various communities, including Hollywood, East Los Angeles, and South Los Angeles. They have also filled 174 volunteer vacancies, totaling 595 volunteer hours.

Since 2021, they have delivered a total of 980,856 meals, with 528,876 meals served in 2023 alone, surpassing an ambitious goal of reaching 500,000 meals. Thirty-four thousand of these meals came from the 'Goals That Give' program, where each of ACFC's 34 goals this season has translated into 1,000 meals per goal on the pitch. Furthermore, this partnership has facilitated the funding of a Food Security Coordinator for APCC, whose role is to oversee the expansion of food security programs, providing more days and locations throughout South Los Angeles.

“It is estimated that one in five of our neighbors in Los Angeles County faces food insecurity, according to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank,” said Saudra Bryant, Executive Director of All Peoples Community Center. “Since 1989, All Peoples has responded to the crises by distributing food bags to families living in poverty. “In 2022, we were fortunate to collaborate with Angel City Football Club and their partner DoorDash, which enabled us to launch the Food Security Department, expanding our ability to provide meals weekly. Who could have imagined we would have reached the milestone of providing one million meals to the Vernon Central Community? Angel City and DoorDash truly represent all that is positive in the City of Angels, and we are grateful for our ongoing partnership.”

In addition to the invaluable meals donated to APCC, ACFC and DoorDash have forged a strong partnership with the Los Angeles LGBT Center, establishing a program dedicated to three significant communities in Los Angeles. Since 2022, they have delivered a total of 88,044 meals, with 42,780 meals served in 2023 alone, and an ambitious goal of reaching 50,000 meals.
